Veth-Compact-Jet
The Veth-Compact-Jet is a thruster, meant for propulsion, but can also be used as a bow thruster.
Applications
An important advantage is that the Compact-Jet is very appropriate for shallow draught conditions. And as there are no protruding parts underneath the vessel, this thruster is also very suitable to make flat-bottom crafts, such as barges, self propelled.
When the requirements for a low sound level are very important, as for example in passenger vessels, the Compact-Jet can also be used as a bow thruster. Thanks to it's double construction, the sound level is limited to a minimum.
How it works
The system consists of a round rotating construction. The unit is provided with a hydrodynamic streamlined channel. The propeller is placed under an angle. The water is sucked up diagonally from underneath the ship and pushed in any desired direction. The streamlined form of the channel ensures a high thrust of about 9,5 kg/kW. As the installation is 360° rotatable, the thrust is the same in each position.
The Compact-Jet has several options, such as a built in freewheel clutch. There is also the possibility of a vertical mounted e-motor on the unit, which saves a lot of space.
